The November 6, 2018 election has come and gone, and the results are in.
Republican Ted Cruz defeated Democrat Beto O'Rourke to retain his seat as U.S. Senator from Texas.
I wish him well.
As the American Citizen Party Senate candidate, I always knew the probability of my winning was extremely low, but I persisted anyway because of the positive response I received when I discussed my policies with Texas voters. Despite the fact that my tax plan would have freed every American from the grip of the IRS, and created the greatest economic boom in world history, it became clear that few people were willing to cast their vote outside the Uniparty. And, that is what happened on November 6th.
So, after two campaigns for President (in 2008 and 2016) and this Senate campaign in 2018, I have decided to retire from politics and spend the rest of my days enjoying life with my family, grandchildren and friends.
In that regard, within five days after publishing this blog, I will delete the following social media platforms:
Bob McNeil for U.S. Senate Facebook page
American Citizen Party Facebook page
@ACP_Bob_McNeil Twitter page
I am also dismantling the American Citizen Party website and unregistering the Party from the Texas Secretary of State and the IRS, thus, ending all of the administrative filings I have been required to submit since I formed the Party in 2009.
To those of you who supported my efforts, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
